cultivating the environmental humanities

“Cultivating the Environmental Humanities” aims to establish stronger institutional and scholarly links between STEM fields and the Humanities at Rowan University, centered around the study of environmental issues. The grant will be used to develop courses and a CUGS in Environmental Humanities (this is a link to an article in the journal, Environmental Humanities), as well as Humanities modules that can be incorporated into classes on environmental subjects. It will also sponsor a Colloquium Series featuring speakers in Humanities and STEM fields, and a Faculty Group to discuss and develop both research scholarship and pedagogical approaches towards teaching about the environment. You can find more information about the project here. Dustin Crowley, in the Rowan University Dept. of English, is the project co-director.

"Cultivating the Environmental Humanities" is supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities, through their Humanities Connections program.
